Private wedding room on the 2nd floor of The Merchants House, located on the town square of Aeroeskoebing.
Our private wedding venue for all seasons – we help you through the documentation process with AFL and plan your wedding day. We also meet you the day before and go through all final details in person, and we will of course be on hand during the ceremony. Fees to the local authorities & registrar are included.
The Old Merchants’ House is perfect for couples who simply want to get married with minimum stress but maximum hygge. When it is time for the ceremony, we decorate the wedding room with fresh seasonal flowers, provide crystal champagne glasses, an ice bucket and fine bone China to mention a few. A bottle of Champagne is included as well as chocolates, and a non-alcoholic drink. If you want to book a cake, we set it up in the room for you. That way, you can enjoy a toast with friends & family after the ceremony in style.
You can always add a bottle of Champagne if you have more guests, and if you require more time to linger in the wedding room and take photos, just let us know. If you will be bringing guests, we make sure that there are more glasses and chairs and you have more time in the wedding room, or witnesses are provided if you decide to elope.
The room accommodates maximum 30 people, but if you have more than 8 guests we recommend a reception in the atmospheric Old Merchants House Café right downstairs - perfect for receptions inside, or outside in the courtyard by the iconic little whisky distillery. It's perfect all year round for eloping couples going it alone, or smaller parties.
